Portfolio+Prof.Camera.

Oh hell. This week I begin my portfolio.
From now, the real work begins.
Scared? Yes.

Kicked off my week with an early (Sunday) start getting some landscape test shots in. Landscape isn't something I've really shot, so I figured a bit of practice wasn't amiss. The results could've been worse, put it that way. :)

This Tuesday, I'm trying out my first series I've put together in my head. I'm not so sure how this one is going to work out, I'm really going to need to think this through properly. It's going to be book-based.

This Wednesday, my lovely boyfriend, Jamie, has agreed to model for me, so I'm hoping to shoot some AWESOME action shots. :aww:

Also, I'm looking to upgrade to a professional camera (body and lens) and I'm keen to go down the route of either Canon or Nikon.

Obviously for Canon, I'm considering the Canon 5D Mark II (I've heard people RAVE about this camera) and the 1D Mark III. As for Nikon, there's the D3.

I was wondering though, could somebody explain the Nikon system to me? Is it similar to the Canon EOS range in the sense the smaller the number, the better the camera?

What can I say?
Everything seems to be really working out for me just now. :)
I'm back at college, and whilst I'm exhausted, I'm glad to be back in the rat race.
Just everything seems to be just dandy. :aww:

Although, has anyone got any tips on how to survive waking up at 6am every day?

Time To Chew My Arm Off.

Yes. It's that time of year again.
It's time to chew my arm off. Out of boredom, obviously.

My agenda for this summer involves a collaboration with a dear, dear friend of mine, moving house and spending money. I wouldn't mind a bit of photography into the bargain. However, I have fallen into the tragic trap of taking the photos and:

a) Not bothering to upload them
b) Forgetting I even took them
c) Then can't be arsed editing them down.

What a bad habit. Need to get over that.

That college finishes up next week.
I've really enjoyed it.

When your dad forgets to point out that your neck is covered in red dye for half an hour, you consequently have to walk about looking like you've been stabbed for a week. FFS.


I have tried everything. My neck is visably red raw from vodka, nail polish remover, more hair dye, soap, toothpaste, white spirit, everything. I'm now soaked in vaseline.

The agony.
